Physiological Testing and Technique Analysis Come to YOU

Yup, Campfire Endurance, powered by Chris Bagg Coaching Group (wait, is there a rebrand going on?) has procured a van in order to travel to you, removing the logistical puzzle of where testing happens.

  • Need to know your two lactate turnpoints, so you can train more efficiently?
  • Want to understand how much sweat you lose, and how much sodium is in your sweat?
  • Want to analyze your run or swim form so all of that training your doing is actually moving you in the direction you want to move?
  • Want to meet up for a one-off coaching consult?

You can do all of those things as the Mobile Testing Van™️ (or the "MTV" as we are calling it) exists and can come to you.

And we've got our first testing day on the calendar!

Saturday, April 18th the van and I will post up at Riverbend Park in Bend, OR, from 1-7pm for testing services. We will be offering lactate testing only that day, as we're still waiting on sweat testing materials from Precision Hydration to arrive. Those tests will be available in early May.

You can book at the link below, and use the code BREAKAWAY10 to get yourself 10% off as an early adopter.

You'll need your bike, bike shoes, bike kit, and a can-do attitude. I'll provide the testing materials, a smart trainer, hydration, a fan, and shade.

Physiological testing doesn't eliminate uncertainty, but it can help us know what intensities to avoid, and which intensities will provide the quickest path to cycling improvement.

Have you logged what feels like THOUSANDS of hours in the pool, but never see your actual paces get any faster? You're not alone. The swim is the discipline I hear the most confusion and frustration around, and it's not surprising: we are upright, bipedal creatures who extract oxygen from air. When we try to swim we become horizontal, quadripedal creatures who move in an environment that we cannot extract oxygen from (i.e. one that can kill us!). Our primary subconscious goal while swimming...

Hey Reader, Most of us in the endurance world have a fairly tidy definition of mental toughness rattling around our heads: the ability to suffer without complaining, to keep going when it hurts, to not quit, “wanting it” more than someone else. These are fine sound bites — except that they don’t actually explain what’s happening in the moments when everything goes sideways. They doesn’t tell you what to do when your race plan falls apart at mile 18, or when you someone tells you to bake a...
